Daughter of Elizabeth Lydia McLeod (d. 1865), a schoolteacher, and her husband, an Inverness merchant, William Fraser.
Children's writer, who used the pseudonym of "Mrs Harriet Myrtle".
Married Hugh Miller on 7 January 1837. Died on 11 March 1876 at her son-in-law's manse at Lochinver, Lairg, Sutherland, and was buried on 20th March beside her husband in the Grange.
