John W. Brokaw, age 67, of Pembroke Pines, Fla., formerly of Bexley, Oh. passed away December 22, 2008 at Aventura Hospital, Fla. Born May 16, 1941 in Columbus, Oh. He was the son of William A. and Vivian M. (Peterson) Brokaw. Graduate of 1960, Class of East High School. He then attended the Air Age Institute, Kansas City, Mo. where he graduated in 1961. John spent time riding for the rodeo. He was an aspiring pilot, working in many different aspects of travel and transportation. Retired communications manager from Lucent Technologies. Preceeded in death by his father William A. Brokaw, brother Kenneth E. Cook, sister Beverly Moretti (Cook) and stepfather Kenneth C. Cook. John is greatly missed by his best friend/buddy, David W. Thatcher. Survived by his mother, Vivian; and two brothers, Thomas A. Brokaw and David E. (Diana) Cook; many nieces, nephews, cousins and family. A graveside service will be held Saturday, June 27, 2009 at 11 a.m. at Eastlawn Cemetery
