Allen Ray Copeland, 74, of Fort Payne, passed away Sunday, November 8, 2015. He was born on December 2, 1940 to the late R.E. and Bessie Martin Copeland. Mr. Copeland was the pastor of Blanche United Methodist Church. For over 20 years, he was known as “Santa Claus” to children for the annual Toys for Tots events, as well as the Christmas in the Park and area churches all over northeast Alabama.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Stonbraker officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 4 until 7 p.m.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Barbara Lewis Copeland; sons Christopher Allen Copeland and wife, Dr. Toni Copeland and Jonathan Howell Copeland; and grandchildren, Forest Allen Copeland, River Delbridge Copeland, Michelle Mukeli and Teddy Mukeli.
