Clyde - JESSIE RAYMOND "RAY" BEASLEY, 84, of Clyde, died Wednesday, August 30, 2006, at his home.
Services will be Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the Clyde Church of Christ with Jim Hall officiating. Burial will follow in the Clyde Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home.
Ray was born August 15, 1922 in San Antonio, Texas to Steve and Pearl (Favors) Beasley. He married Wilma Shelnutt July 4, 1942 in Baird. He came to Clyde from Baird in 1942. Ray served in the United States Army Air Corps in WWII in the Pacific Theater. He was former owner and operator of Brownwood Welding Supply. He was a member of the Clyde Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Wilma of Clyde; two sons, Kenneth Beasley, and Curt Beasley and wife Libbie, all of Abilene; two daughters, Daphene Clark of Corpus Christi, and Catherine Miller and husband Jeff of Dallas; two brothers, Glen (Pete) Beasley and wife Maureen, and Roy Lee Beasley and wife Sandra, both of Clyde; four sisters, Ola Pearl LeMay of Abilene, Ethel Hughes of Baird, Mary VanDerLinden and husband Cliff of Clyde, and Fay Gilliam and husband Donald of Cottonwood; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and one great-grandson.
