This is the gravesite of Mary Casteel (maiden name Mary Gordon), who was first married to David Fetters, with whom she had at least one child, William Fetters (18 August 1849 to 26 April 1935). Mary was then married to Archibald Casteel (born about 1805 and probably died before the 1880 census was taken), and they had at least one child, Thomas Casteel (19 June 1852 to 17 July 1933). The “A. Casteel” mentioned in Mary’s gravestone inscription refers to Mary’s second/last husband, Archibald Casteel. As for Archibald, he was first married to Charity Perdew; he was then married to Nancy Perdew; and finally his third marriage was to Mary Gordon here.
