Peacefully passed away Sunday, November 15, 2015. Family will welcome friends Monday, November 30 at Bethlehem Baptist Church, 2458 Martin Luther King Jr. Ave., SE, visitation from 9 a.m. until time of service 10 a.m. Interment Quantico National Cemetery.


Viola Paulette Richards was born to the late Lee Richards and Carrie (Richards) Devine in Fredericksburg, Va. on October 29, 1929. She died at the Washington Adventist Hospital in Takoma Park, Md. on November 15, 2015.

She was predeceased by her husband James Jackson, her brother Warren Richards, and grandson Delrico Jones. She leaves to cherish her memory: her children-Victoria Hunter-Jones, Velette Taylor (Jeremiah), Gigi Jones and Leekra Jones (Sharon), three stepchildren-Janine, James Jr., Bobby, six grandchildren-Tear Murphy (Shaun), Joseph Guilford, Leona Guilford, Leetonja Scott, Brandon Jones and Janine Barley, eight great-grandchildren-Qadir Jones, Qalei Coles, Shaun Murphy Jr., Delrico Jones, Jr., Champ Walton, Kearson Savoy, Zuri Savoy, and Morgan Murphy, two nephews-Warren Richards and Anthony Richards, and one sister-in-law Nannie Richards.
