Mrs. Clara S. Winship, formerly of Chadron, Neb., but for the past five years a resident of Sunrise, died in a Denver hospital on January 29, and was buried Thursday at the Guernsey Cemetery, after appropriate services at the Congregational church. Mrs. Winship was the wife of H. D. Winship, familiarly known as "Cap", and was the mother of four boys -- Matt, Sid, Clarence and Lee. Matt and Sid have families. Cap Winship was marshall of Chadron for several years during the early days and is 72 years of age. Mr. and Mrs. Winship were united in the holy bonds of matrimony 48 years ago and the union was always a happy one. A special train from Sunrise Thursday brought relatives and good friends to attend the funeral. Mrs. Winship was a most decent woman and was held in the highest esteem by all who knew her. The bereaved may find some consolation in the thought that she is at rest and that a like fate awaits us all. A heart-felt sympathy is extended to all members of the family by a community which knew and loved the one for whom they mourn.
