She was the daughter of Samuel and Dorcas (Cherry) Reed and married Egbert Burks Spaulding - 23 Dec 1908 - Franklin Co., Tennessee. Her obituary follows:

Mrs. E. B. Spaulding Dies at Decherd --

Mrs. E. Burks Spaulding, 71, died Thursday morning at 2 o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Bob Winton in Decherd. She had been in falling health for the past six months. She was a member of the Decherd Methodist Church, in which she was long an active worker.

The funeral will be held Friday at 2 o'clock at the Methodist Church when services will be conducted by the pastor, the Rev. Charles Parker. Burial will be in Mt. Garner Cemetery.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Bob Winton; five sons, Herbert Spaulding and Robert Spaulding, Chattanooga, Ben Spaulding, Decherd, Dr. Frank Spaulding, Areola, Mississippi, and Dr. Joe Bill Spaulding, Richmond, Virginia; three sisters, Miss Lucy Reed, Decherd, Mrs. Sallie Morris, Chattanooga, and Mrs. Eva Duncan, Hillsboro; and seven grandchildren, Jimmy, Ann, Bobby, Caroline, and Ben Spaulding, Jr., and Nancy Sue and James Winton.
