She was the daughter of the late Rev. John Wesley Bennett and Sarah Eudora Pattillo Bennett. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Wally Dodd; her son Parker Dodd, and her second husband, Rev. John James Powell.
Anne is survived by Rick Dodd (Pam) of Williamsburg, VA, Dede Scott (Alan) of Morganton, David Dodd (Barbara Bertram) of Durham, Rev. Dr. Jim Powell (Debbie), and Dr. Martha Powell (Dr. Will Blackwell), two grandchildren, Katherine Partington (Ben) and Shane Scott, three great grandchildren, Claire Scott and Ellis and Zach Partington and nieces, Sharon Rodgers, Sally Fillebrown, Barbra Bennett, and Susan Gallimore.
Anne graduated from Greensboro College in 1938 with a BS in Home Economics. She graduated from Duke University in 1944 with a BS in Nursing. She worked at Duke Hospital until World War II was over. Later she worked in the newborn nursery of Wesley Long Hospital in Greensboro. Well done faithful servant.
A celebration of her life will be held at Alexander UMC in Forest City at a date to be determined.
