The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8pm on Tuesday, and prior to the funeral service at 10am Wednesday, December 9th, 2015, both at Mayes-Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home in Marietta. Burial will follow at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton.
Steve was the son of the late H.P Green and Maude Green, formerly of Wright Street in Marietta. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Lewie Cain Green, formerly of Suches, GA, his son Stephen DeWitt Green and wife Bonnie of Kennesaw, daughter Sherri Green and grand-daughter Katherine Sara Smith of Smyrna, and his brothers, Harold E. Green of Lithonia, GA, and Charles R. Green of Pearland, TX, and several nieces and nephews.
He was a graduate of Georgia State University and served in Germany during the Korean War. He was employed as a computer programmer for Lockheed-GA, RCA, Western Electric, and others. He enjoyed the outdoors, farming, building and enjoyed a long, happy life.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the American Cancer Society, Cobb County Unit, 1825 Barrett Lakes Blvd. Suite 280, Kennesaw, GA 30144.
