Rev. Thomas H. Mohr, 84, a resident of Davenport passed away Thursday, December 3, 2015 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf. Funeral services and Mass of Christian Burial for Fr. Mohr will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 7, 2015 at Our Lady of Lourdes, 1506 Brown Street, Bettendorf. Burial will be next to his parents at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Davenport. Visitation will begin with a Chaplet of Divine Mercy and Rosary at 2:00 p.m. and conclude with a funeral vigil service at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, December 6th at Halligan McCabe DeVries, 614 Main Street, Davenport. There will be additional visitation Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes. Memorials may be made to Assumption High School Music Dept., or your favorite charity. Thomas Henry Mohr was born March 14, 1931 in Davenport the son of Sylvester H. and Estelle (Andress) Mohr. He graduated from St. Ambose Academy, St. Ambrose College, and Mt. St. Bernard Seminary, Dubuque, Iowa. He held a Masters of Divinity. He was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Davenport by Bishop Ralph Hayes on June 7, 1958 at Sacred Heart Cathedral, Davenport. His first mass was celebrated at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, Davenport. He retired in September 2000. Fr. Mohr had served the parishes of St. Bridget’s, Victor, IA, St. Wenceslaus, Iowa City, IA, St. Mary, Ft. Madison, IA, St. Mary, Riverside, IA, St. Mary of the Visitation, Ottumwa, IA, Holy Family, Davenport, St. Mary, Oxford, IA. He had also been a faculty member at Davenport Assumption High School, and was Chaplain at The Canticle and The Alverno both in Clinton, IA. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus 3rd and 4th degree. Fr. Mohr also loved the theater and music. He is survived by his niece, Mary Kay Scogin, San Antonio, TX; a grand nephew, Jack Scogin, numerous cousins, and his dear friend Sr. Andrea Giltner, OSB. Fr. Mohr was preceded in death by his parents, a half-sister Jean O’Hara, a half-brother Don Krell, and his devoted housekeeper for many years Mary Bertha “Bert” Milder. The family would like to thank Fr. Mohr’s special caregivers, John and Tracy Jacobson, Tom Perdan, and Deacon John and Cheryl Wagner.
