Businessman Snoddy passionate about work, family and friends
Tim Snoddy had energy, the kind of energy it takes to run businesses in three cities, consult on numerous cases, go horseback riding every weekend, look after nearby parents, children and grandchildren, and keep a close circle of friends.

Snoddy, 51, was headed to his Snoddy Consulting offices in Stuart, Fla., on Sunday when he boarded Flight 5191.

"He usually took that flight on Mondays; I don't know why he picked Sunday," said his close friend, Gil Johnson. "Maybe he just wanted a day in Florida."

The two friends often worked together. Johnson, a lawyer, often called upon Snoddy's expertise as a forensic accountant -- someone who investigates financial problems, including fraud. Snoddy had expanded his business beyond Lexington into Florida and North Carolina.

"He was the consummate professional," Johnson said. "We used him all the time, and he was the voice of reason. He had the ability to tell you where the weak places in a case were."

But he was also the ultimate father and friend, Johnson said. "Every decision he made as a professional, he always had his family in mind."

Snoddy was originally from Greenup County and graduated from the University of Kentucky in 1976. He remained an ardent UK sports fan, said his son, Matthew.

"He was very warm and generous and very caring," Matthew Snoddy said. "He loved people, loved talking and telling stories."

The Friday before he left, he attended Picnic With the Pops, Snoddy said.

Snoddy is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Snoddy of Lexington; his sister, Terrie Stuart of Louisville; his three children, Matthew Snoddy of Lexington, Joshua Snoddy of Catlettsburg and Jocelynn Morgan of Sierra Madre, Calif.; and three grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements are pending. Inquiries may be directed to the family spokesman, Matthew Snoddy, at (859) 619-5045.
