Margie Marie (Lair) Maxwell was welcomed into the arms of God on December 2, 2015. She passed away at Stonewall Memorial Hospital at the age of 87 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Graveside services will be held 11:30 am Saturday in the Aspermont cemetery under the care and direction of Giles-McCoy Funeral Home of Aspermont officiated by Rev. Mickey Waggoner.

Margie was born on January 5, 1928 in Swenson, Texas to Simon Calton and Dora Ellen Lair.

She was raised and educated in Swenson and Aspermont.

Margie married W.T. Maxwell on February 6, 1947. They spent their entire lives as residents of Stonewall County.

Margie was a loving person. Her family was the most important thing in her life. She dedicated her life to her family and always had a welcoming home with wonderful food and a loving environment.

Margie was a member of the First Baptist Church of Aspermont.

Margie was preceded in death by her husband W.T. her parents Dora and Simon Lair her brother George Lair and son-in-law Jimmy Parker.

Survivors include two daughters; Martha Sue Brooks and husband Irvin of Aspermont Mary Lou Parker of Abilene Grandchildren Marla Tate and husband Jaren of Clyde Melissa Gardner and Brad Ribelin of Aspermont Wesley Brooks and wife Melissa of Austin Kristi Miller and husband Ray of Holly Lake Ranch Michelle Parker of Abilene Great-Grandchildren JJ Tate, Jathan Tate, Matthew Wagner, Macy Lewis, Miles Brooks, Megan Gardner, Kolby Brooks, Lexie Miller We love her and miss her until we are together again.

Visitation will be Friday evening from 5 until 6 pm.
