Steven was born and raised in Spokane, Washington. He attended St. Patrick's Catholic Grade School and Gonzaga Preparatory High in Spokane. He then moved to the Seattle area where he graduated from Seattle University.

Following graduation he obtained employment as an Accountant in the Seattle area and soon purchased his first home there.

He was a responsible, warm, gentle spirit much loved and admired by family members, loyal friends and co-workers. The previously robust Steve had fought a brief, but hard battle with a recently diagnosed advanced case of Melanoma Cancer. He passed away far too soon in his home on the west side of Washington State surrounded by loved ones. Steven was survived by his parents, a brother, two sisters and numerous relatives.

A Catholic Vigil and Funeral Mass Services were held both at Seattle University's St. Ignatius Chapel and in his hometown of Spokane, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Steve was laid to rest at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Spokane where many of his ancestors are buried.
