In 1993, their debut album 'Core' (1992) peaked at Number 3 on the Billboard 200 chart followed by an even bigger achievement the following year, when they released the album 'Purple', which would reach at it reached Number 1. Infighting would eventually drive the band apart, leading to several hiatuses just a few years after reaching the height of their popularity, during which Weiland participated in several side projects. In 2002, he joined former "Guns N' Roses" members Slash, Duff McKagan and Matt Sorum in a supergroup called "Velvet Revolver." They released an album called 'Contraband' in June 2004 and another in 2007 called 'Libertad', the last to feature Weiland on vocals. He would release several solo albums, including '12 Bar Blues' (1998), 'The Most Wonderful Time of the Year' (2011) and 'Blaster' (2015). Weiland, who had a history of drug problems, was found dead by his manager aboard a tour bus, while on tour with his latest project, "Scott Weiland and the Wildabouts."
