Frances A Ahlers, 84, formerly of New Bremen and a resident of Clearwater, Fla., for the past year and a half, died at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, May 27, 2001, at the home of her daughter. She was born July 1, 1916, in St. Marys, the daughter of Charles and Rosena (Wibbeler) Ruwoldt. On June 6, 1936, she married Harold Ahlers and he died in 1976. She is survived by a son, William (Joan) Ahlers of New Bremen; two daughters; Roslyn (Homer) Stutsman of Botkins and Elaine (Ernie) Covault of Clearwater; a sister, Marcella Johnson of Jackson, Mich., a special friend, Bob Trail of CLearwater, Fla; 12 grandchidlren; and 30 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Jeanette GUffey. Mrs. Ahlers was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in New Bremen and the Woodman of the World Camp 149 of New Bremen. She was a homemaker. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home in New Bremen. Following visitation, Mrs. Ahlers' body will be cremated with services at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice Foundation of The Florida Sun Coast.
