Mansford "Ray" Ice

Mansford “Ray” Ice, 79, of Evansville passed away at 3:15 pm, Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at Hamilton Pointe.

Ray was born October 10, 1936 in Evansville the son of the late Burton and Laura (Young) Ice. He was a member of Bethel United Church of Christ and donated his time driving the church van. Ray had worked as a structural steel draftsman for Dynamic Detailers for 30 years and retired from the EVSC maintenance department. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ray will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Ruth (Gates) Ice of Evansville; daughters, Karen Gruebele (Jon) of Chicago, IL and Theresa Lamb (Jim) of Evansville; son, Myron Ice (Diane) of Evansville; sister, Shirley Marlett (Bob) of Solvang, CA; brother, Michael Ice (Joan) of Salem, IL; grandchildren, Chad Lamb, Sarah Lippert, Dave “Ben” Gamblin, Noah Ice and Landon Ice and 5 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 sisters and 5 brothers.

Funeral Services will be held at 10 am, Saturday, December 5, 2015 at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel-A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue, Evansville with Chaplain John Hilbert and Pastor David Mills officiating. Entombment will be in Sunset Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Friends may visit from 3 pm until 8 pm, Friday, December 4, 2015 at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel and again from 9 am until time of service at 10 am, Saturday.
