Craig Linton's real estate company, Florida Ranch Lands assembled the original 27,400 acres that became Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. Craig and Nelson Boice founded Florida Ranch Lands in 1954 and were caught in a whirl of activity amid Disney's secret land purches in the mid-1960s. Speculation about the buyer ranged from Howard Hughes to Ford Motor Company. But no one got any hints from Florida Ranch Lands. The Disney purchase was just one of many major deals handled by Florida Ranch Lands. They included Deltona in Volusia County, Poinciana in Osceola and Polk counties, and Isleworth in west Orange County. Just about every major transaction in Central Florida was by Florida Ranch Lands for more than 20 years.

Craig was an A-1 salesman who liked everything about selling, including entertaining prospects. Craig knew how to deal with people and because of that was the leader in the land business from the 1960s into the 1980s.

As Florida Ranch Lands prospered, Linton gave back to the community. His involvement included serving as president of the Central Florida Development Committee, director of the Greater Orlando Area Chamber of Commerce, president of the Florida Symphony Society, president of the Winter Park Racquet Club, and member of the Presidents Council of Rollins College.

Craig was born in Philadelphia and graduated from Bucknell University with a bachelor's degree in commerce and finance.

He was a captain in the Army, serving in the Philippines during World War II. After the war, he moved to Florida to become a cattle rancher.

Craig's children are:

Craig Linton Jr.
Leslie Linton
Page Linton Haddad
Cameron Linton

His parents were:
Dr. Nellie Cameron Craig Linton
Dr. Jacob (Jay) Dever H. Linton
