Joyce M. Casey, age 89, of Kinde passed away peacefully on January 1, 2014. Joyce Allan was born on August 16, 1924 to the late David and Bernice (Craig) Allan near Pinnebog. She was united in marriage to James Casey on December 23, 1942. James preceded her in death on December 9, 2003. Joyce devoted her life to her family. She was a loving wife and mother. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren and took great pleasure in the arrival of each of her great-grandchildren. She was a fan of the Detroit Tigers and enjoyed watching all of their games. Joyce was a quiet woman of great strength. The love she showed us and the lessons she taught us will be passed on for generations.

Joyce is survived by her children: Maureen Fealko of Caro, Jean and Anthony Krinkie of Bad Axe, Kathleen and David Koroleski of Kinde, Daniel and Susan Casey of Middlesboro, KY, Patrick and Susan Casey of Gaylord, Laurie Matthews and her husband David of Bad Axe, and Gerald Smaglinksi of Shelbyville, IN; 22 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren. Joyce is also survived by a sister, Grace Gehring of Bad Axe, a brother, Rev. John (Karen) Allan of Marlette and a sister-in-law Angela Otterbein of Bad Axe. She was preceded in death by a son, James Casey; two daughters, Barbara Smaglinski and Joan Bushey; and grandson Kyle Casey and son-in-law William Fealko.

Services will be held on Monday, January 6, 2014 at 11am at the Kaufman Funeral Home in Bad Axe. Officiating will be Rev. Jerry Sutton, Pastor at the Bad Axe Free Methodist Church.
