Raymond Edward Maynard, 85, died Wednesday, December 2, 2015, in Milledgeville, Georgia.

Visitation will be 6-8pm Friday, December 4, 2015, at Bridges Funeral Home. Service's will be held, Saturday, December 5th, 2015 at 11:00am at Wayside Presbyterian Church, with Rev. Karen Mitcham and Rev. Beth Holloway officiating.

Mr. Maynard was born June 5, 1930, in Macon, Georgia. He graduated from Jones County High School in 1948. He received a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy from Chico State College, Chico, California, after completing two years as a Marine in the Korean War. After spending 12 years working as a counselor and supervising counselor in California, he became the Assistant Warden at Reidsville, Georgia and went on to become Superintendent of 6 prisons in Georgia, Kansas and Alaska. He was the son of the late Benjamin Franklin Maynard and Eugenia Sara Maynard

Mr. Maynard is survived by his wife: Sherry Lee Maynard, Sons: Eric Lee Maynard, Kirk Edward Maynard, Daughter: Tamara Lee Maynard, and four Grandchildren
