Connie was married to her husband, Joe Atwood, for 43 years until his passing in 2011. In her younger days, she was well known as a coon hunter's wife and now known as Grandma Beans. Connie graduated from LPN school in 1995. She worked at Dr. Woodruff's office in Idabel as a nurse for almost 20 years. Connie was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and also playing the "egg" machine at the casino.
Connie is preceded in death by her parents; and loving husband, Joe Atwood.
She is survived by her step father, Sam Stermer; three daughters, Marissa Martinez and husband Albert of San Antonio, TX, Lisa Garcia and husband Tony of Idabel, OK, Joyce Johnson and husband Joe of Idabel, OK; one brother, Craig Havrane of Haworth, OK; brother in law and sister in law, Emitt and Betty Atwood of Delaware; one sister, Samantha Lewis of Las Vegas, NV; ten grandchildren; along with several great-grandchildren.
Service will be held Friday, December 4, 2015 in the Norwood-Nation Chapel at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be at Bokhoma Cemetery.
