Age 92, retired minister, Grand Junction, Colorado.

BIRTH: July 20, 1923, in Lamar, Colorado, to Donald and Maude Shiflet Kornman.

EDUCATION: Graduate, Cedar Edge High School in 1941. Graduate, Graceland College, Lamoni, Iowa, 1943. Studied philosophy at William Jewell College in Liberty, Missouri, and the University of Kansas, 1947 - 1949.

MILITARY: Joined the United States Army and served in Italy and Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

EMPLOYMENT: In the mines in Ohio City and White Pine, Colorado.

FULL-TIME MINISTRY in 1950, Community of Christ, headquartered in Independence, Missouri.

MARRIAGE: July 20, 1957, Elsie Fry, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

RETIREMENT to Durango, Colorado. 1988. Moved to Grand Junction, Colorado in 1994. VOLUNTEER St. Mary's Hospital, American Red Cross, Grand Junction Police Department Victim's Advocate Program, Suicide Prevention, and Hope West Hospice.

HOBBIES: Baking bread and taking homemade fudge to friends. Reading, western books and books about ministry. Wrote many prayers. Played bridge, chess. Photography. Exercising. Storytelling. Loved his dog Casper. Mostly loved preaching and worshiping with his church family.

DEATH: November 21, 2015, at his residence, in Grand Junction.

AMONG SURVIVORS: Son Scott Kornman of McKinney, Texas, daughter Stacy Webb of Durango, Colorado, brother Gerald Nelson of Clifton, Colorado, and two grandchildren.

MILITARY HONORS AND INURNMENT: 10 AM December 22, 2015, at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery of Western Colorado, 2830 Riverside Parkway, Grand Junction.

CELEBRATION OF LIFE: Community of Christ, 2880 B-1/2 Road, at 11:30 AM December 22, 2015.
