Doris Lucille Hutchins Buttrey was born July 25, 1922, in Salt Lake City, Utah, and died September 9, 1998.

Doris was the daughter of Robert Hale Hutchins and Edna Lucille Miller Hutchins. She attended East High School and Westminster College. Doris married Thomas Richard Buttrey on September 5, 1942, at St. Pauls Episcopal Church in Salt Lake City. He died on May 17, 1982.

She was a career woman who believed strongly in the work ethic. She provided many years of service to the Salt Lake City School District, Westminster College and LDS Hospital.

Doris was a strong supporter of her family, always putting her love for her husband and daughters first in all she did.

She was a former member of Daughters of the Nile, and current member of P.E.O. Chapter Y.

She is survived by her daughters, Diane Buttrey (Blaine) Simons and Jan Marie Buttrey; two grandchildren, Tom Simons and Stacie Simons; and a brother, Robert Bruce Hutchins. Preceded in death by sister, Margaret Hutchins Dwyer and brother, Hale Hutchins.

Doris's family would like to thank the Garden Terrace Alzheimers Care Center for their years of devotion.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, 1998, at Evans & Early Mortuary, 574 East First South, Salt Lake City. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services.

Contributions may be made in Doris' name to Shriners Hospital or Westminster College.

Interment, Mount Olivet Cemetery.
