Memorial Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at Garden View Chapel, 3655 Logan Avenue in Waterloo.

Public visitation will be held from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at Garden View Chapel.

Inurnment in Garden of Memories Cemetery with Full Military Honors accorded by Waterloo AMVETS Post 19, Evansdale AMVETS Post 31 and the US Air Force Honors Detail.

Jimmie J. Patterson, age 76, of Waterloo, died Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at his home.

He was born July 9, 1939 in Elma, Iowa the son of James “Paul” and Viola Schwake Patterson. Jimmie married Carol Walther and she preceded him in death on January 21, 1991. He married Jeanne Virchow and she preceded him in death.

Jimmie worked at Terex Cranes in Waverly. He was a veteran of the US Air Force. Jimmie was a Life Member of Evansdale AMVETS Post 31 and a member of Waterloo AMVETS Post 19 and the Eagle’s Club Arie 764 in Waterloo.

Survivors include 4 sons, David (Andrea) Patterson of Oelwein, William (Diana) Patterson of Leeds, AL, Gary Patterson and Ben Rowe, both of Cedar Falls, IA and a daughter, Connie (Dave Thomas) Patterson of Corpus Christi, TX; 6 grandchildren, Elizabeth, Chelsea, Tanner, Brooke, Leighton and Carlee; 3 brothers, Dale (Eulala) Averhoff of Evansdale, IA, Keith (Tracey) Averhoff of Owatonna, MN and Wayne Averhoff of Oklahoma; and 4 sisters, Rose (Andy) Schaffer of Evansdale, Dorothy Dukes of California, Vivian (Alvin) Meyer of Waterloo and Irma (Bruce) Kampschroer of Minnesota.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Dean Patterson and a sister, Charlotte Boone.
