Tony Lee Wilson, 53, of Atlanta, Kansas, passed away December 1, 2015 in Wilmot, Kansas.

Born May 31, 1962 in Winfield, Kansas, he was the son of Hazel L. (Morgan) Braungardt and Jerry W. Wilson. He was raised and received his education in Burden and Atlanta, graduating from Central High School in 1980.

He married Tracey Houser in Udall, Kansas. The couple made their home in Douglass, and he began working at Beech Aircraft. They later divorced. Tony married Dorothy Lankford at Udall Baptist Church on September 28, 1990. To this union, two children were born. The couple later divorced. He worked for a short time at the Winfield State Hospital and Training Center before beginning his career as a framer. He began framing for Williamson Construction Company and later for Warren Brothers in Derby. He remained there for over 20 years.

He enjoyed fishing, camping, woodworking, stargazing with a telescope, drawing and smoking the Thanksgiving Day turkey. He especially loved spending time with his friends and family. He spent his last day fishing with his son.

His family includes: His children: Jamie Lee Wilson of Mulvane; Valerie Danielle Wilson of Winfield; His grandchildren: Jacey Wilson of Mulvane; Robert Alexander of Mulvane; His mother: Hazel Braungardt of Atlanta; His father: Jerry Wilson and wife, Carolyn of Atlanta; His siblings: Lesa Marie Kent and husband, Mark of Burden; Billy Joe Wilson and wife, Melanie of Oxford; His step-siblings: Mike Pressgrove and wife, Sonja of Topeka; Angela Holland and husband, Jimmie of Winfield; Joe Speagle of Bentonville, AR; Andy Speagle of Wellington; Kathy Speagle of Topeka; and Numerous nieces and nephews.

Tony was preceded in death by his grandparents.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, December 7, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. Interment will follow at Wilmot Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon from 2 to 6 P.M. The family will greet visitors from 2 to 4 that evening.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Tony’s name to help defray funeral expenses. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
