February 1955 – Passage. The Ogden Standard-Examine (Ogden, Utah) Thursday, February 10, 1955, Page 25 published the following obituary, “Mrs. Bertha Gunter Williams Evans, 51, of 3555 Porter Ave., wife of Henry E. Evans, died yesterday in the Dee Hospital after a short illness.



“Mrs. Evans was a member of the LDS Twenty-eighth Ward. She was formerly a member of the Fifteenth ward where she worked in the Primary. She was a member of Woodmen of the World.



“For the past three years he had been employed in the alterations department of the B and B Clothes shop and formerly worked at the Ogden Arsenal.



“She was born Dec. 23, 1903, in Bannock County, Idaho, a daughter of Zeb V. and Elizabeth Meyers Gunter. She resided in Arimo, Idaho, until 1931 when she moved to Ogden.



“In September, 1921, she was married to Deloss G. Williams in Brigham City. They were later divorced. On September 3, 1946, she was married to Mr. Evans in Ogden.



“Surviving are her husband, the following daughters: Mrs. Ray (Marion) Trinniman, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Claire J. (Dorothy) Allred, Mrs. Dale (Norrine) Needham, Mrs. Ruby L. (Virginia) Glismann, Miss Marlene Williams, Ogden; nine grandchildren, the following brothers and sisters: James H. Gunter, Mrs. Ed Kapell, Mrs. Charles Fink, Arimo; Vance Gunter and Mrs. Erastus Kapell, McCammon, Idaho; Mrs. John Criddle, Downey, Idaho; Mrs. Jesse Lawrence, Salt Lake City.



“Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 1 p.m. in Lindquist and Sons Colonial Funeral Chapel, 3408 Washington Blvd. Bishop H. Lynn Arnold of the LDS Twenty-eighth Ward officiating.



“Friends may call at the funeral chapel tomorrow from 6 to 9 p.m. and Saturday until the service hour. Interment will be in Washington Heights Memorial Park.”
