Jennifer Geer George, 58, peacefully passed away October 10, 2015, with her loving husband and six children at her side, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Jenny was born on February 28, 1957, in Bakersfield, California, daughter of Jack Ozell Geer and Nancy Josephine Burt Geer. Jenny graduated from Acalanes High School in Lafayette, California and attended Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah where she met her husband and sweetheart, Richard. Jenny and Richard were married for eternity on Aug 20, 1976, in the Manti, Utah Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Jenny loved her responsibilities as a wife and mother. Her family brought her the most joy in her life. Her home was always filled with beautiful pictures of her children, grandchildren and extended family. Her love for family extended to past generations as she researched and learned about her ancestors through family history work.

Jenny’s faith as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints shaped every aspect of her life. In addition to serving in various church capacities, she sought opportunities to serve those around her, often anonymously. She particularly enjoyed working with the youth of the church.

Music was a very important part of Jenny’s life. She followed in her mother’s legacy as a violinist and passed this love of music on to each of her children. Jenny frequently shared her musical talents in church services and at community functions, but most of all enjoyed “evenings of music” at home with family and friends.

Jenny endured the last years of her life with grace and optimism and never let her trials or disappointments defeat her spirit. Jenny had a special light about her. She will forever be a blessing to her family and an inspiration to all who knew her. She will be deeply missed.

Jenny is survived by her husband, Richard Lloyd George; children, Elizabeth (Kevin) Rivard, David (Heather) George, Daniel (Allegra) George, Andrew (Tawny) George, Rachel (Andrew) Holmes, and Hannah (Michael) Weston; 12 grandchildren; stepmother, Pamela Brasel; sisters, Rebecca Funke and Lenee Taylor; brothers, Russell Geer, Jeffrey Geer, and Jon Loustalot.

A viewing will be held on Thursday evening Octo 15, 2015, from 7-9PM at the LDS Church building, 6061 S. Havana St. Englewood, Colorado.

The funeral service will be held Friday, Oct 16, 2015, at 11AM at the Denver Stake Center of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2710 S. Monaco Pkwy Denver, Colorado. The graveside service will be Saturday, October 17, 2015, at 3PM at the cemetery located in Kanosh, Utah.

All are invited to attend the services. Funeral arrangements are provided by Apollo Funeral Service, 293 Roslyn St. Denver, Colorado.
