Matthew Blaine Snyder, known as Matt to his family and friends, passed away at his home in San Diego, California on November 25, 2015 at the age of 50.

Matt is survived by his parents, Levi and Catherine Snyder of Reeds, MO, two brothers, two sisters, six nephews, seven nieces, three great-nephews, and two great-nieces. For omitted names of living relatives, the mortuary may be contacted.

Matt was born in Carthage, MO June 13, 1965. He graduated from Carthage Senior High in 1983 then attended Missouri Southern State University of Joplin, MO, where he studied art for two years. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology, with emphasis on Archaeology from Missouri University, Columbia, MO. Matt loved nature and being outdoors but his greatest joy came from his life’s work as an artist.
He was known for his innovative techniques and unique style. Matt’s artwork spanned a wide spectrum of mediums, such as bronze casting, clay, watercolor, oils, and charcoal. However, in recent years he created some of his finest works; large abstract mosaics, painted in vivid colors.
