Marvin Kenneth McCoy, 85, of Prineville, passed away at his home on March 13, 2010.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, March 18, 2010, at the Prineville Praise and Worship Center, 780 NW Deer St., in Prineville. Pastor Richard Hargraves will officiate.
Marvin was born on Nov. 27, 1924 in Sparks, Kan., to Harry J. and Lela (Emuson) McCoy. He attended OSU and OIT.
After college, he went to work for the U.S. Forest Service as an engineer. He worked there for 31 years. After Marvin retired from the U.S. Forest Service, he started doing remodeling work as well as custom haying in the Prineville area. He had a small ranch and raised cattle. Marvin built the sanctuary at the Community Church here in Prineville.
Marvin was married to Wilma Hatch, who passed away in February of 1993.
Marvin married Imagean Tucker on April 2, 1994 in Prineville.
Marvin loved woodworking, fishing, masonry rock work, and spending time with his family.
Marvin was a member of Odd Fellows Lodge in Madras.
Marvin is survived by his loving wife, Imagean McCoy of Prineville; sons, Stephen (Bonnie) McCoy, and Dwight McCoy of Prineville, and Bruce (Jan) McCoy of Bonanza, Ore.; stepdaughters, Patsy (Ben) Owens of Prineville, Alice (John) Freelund of Olympia, Wash., and Mary (Mike) Chapman; stepson, Roy (Gail) Pack of Prineville,; brothers, Mel McCoy of Prineville, Myron McCoy of Portland, Ore., and Martin McCoy of Eugene, Ore.; sisters, Mary Jane Puddy and Marvis Reynolds of Prineville; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Marvin is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and three sisters.
