Professional Basketball Player. Loscutoff, born James Loscutoff Jr., played for the National Basketball Association's Boston Celtics from 1955 to 1964. He played basketball at both Grant Technical College near Sacramento, California and the University of Oregon before being drafted by the Boston Celtics in the 1955 NBA draft. Loscutoff played forward for the Celtics and helped them win seven championships during his career. He was known in his professional career for his defensive skills and all-around excellent play. Loscutoff played for Boston until his retirement and the team honored him by adding a banner in their arenas with his nickname "Loscy" (he asked that his number not be retired). After his retirement, he, along with his wife, founded a children's day camp.
