Steve Garcia went to be with our Heavenly Father Nov. 21, 2015, after a short battle with cancer. Steve was born and raised in Albuquerque, where he graduated from Valley High School. He lived in Aztec for the last five years, enjoying a small-town life. He loved to sit outside with our pets, and loved to smoke cigarettes and herb. He will be remembered for his big smile and humble heart. He was preceded in death by his father, Carmel T. Garcia; his mother, Tillie Garcia; his two brothers, and one sister. He is survived by his daughters, Stephannie (Tim) Samora and Annette (Sam) Cordova; grandchildren, Brandy (Daniel) Castel De Oro, William Cordova, Julie Cordova, Katie Samora; great-grandson, Nixon Castel De Oro; best buddy, Ben Samora; longtime friend and ex-wife, JoAnn (Leo) Martinez; stepson, Chris (Carmen) Aragon and their three daughters; three brothers, and two sisters. A rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 2 at St. Mary's Church in Farmington. A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 3 at St. Mary's Church in Farmington with the Rev. Father Chacon and Deacon Frank Chavez officiating. Interment of Steve's remains will follow at the St. Mary's Columbarium, behind the Parish Hall. A reception will be at Parish Hall after services.
