Mr. Bill Belcher, 94, of LaFayette, Alabama died Monday November 30, 2015 at the Wedowee Hospital in Wedowee, Aabama.
A graveside service will be held Friday, December 4, 2015 at 2PM at the LaFayette City Cemetery with Mr. Leroy Jones and Rev. Benny Yates officiating.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 11AM until 1PM prior to the graveside service.
Mr. Belcher was born in Chambers County November 18, 1921 to the late Leonard L. Belcher and Julia Elizabeth Foster Belcher. He was a member and deacon and sang in the choir of the First Baptist Church of LaFayette, and was an avid Alabama Football and Atlanta Braves Baseball fan, a US Army veteran, member of the American Legion, and served on the LaFayette City Council from 1968 until 1980. Mr. Belcher had also owned and operated Belcher's Home Furnishings and Custom Picture Framing in LaFayette, and a was a cattle farmer.
Survivors are his daughter, Beverly (Dennis) Geck of Mobile, AL, and son Carey (Rachel) Belcher of Daviston, AL.
