The death of Elva R. Phillips occurred on Monday, May 31st, 1999 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Born in McGivney, N.B., she was the wife of Ernest R.A. Phillips and the daughter of the late Eldon and Nettie (Palmer) Astle. Elva is survived by two daughters, Stephanie Phillips-Powell of Scarborough, Ont. and Stacee Stoeckle also of Scarborough, two sons-in-law, Gordon Powell and Andrew Stoeckle, both of Scarborough, three sisters, Irene Cowie of Nashwaak Bridge, Alma (Ivan) Calhoun of McGivney, and Grace (John) Taylor of Marysville, four grandchildren, Rebecca Stoeckle, Bailee Stoeckle, Garrett Stoeckle and Connor Powell. She was predeceased by four brothers, Tom, Arnold, Mason and Wendall Astle. Elva was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch Auxiliary and the N.B. Tel Pioneers.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced at a later date. For those who wish, memorial donations made to the charity of the donors choice would be appreciated by the family. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to McAdam's Funeral Home, 160 York Street, Fredericton. 458-9170
