Dot Dye Blodgett Hansen, age 75, died on October 13, 1997 at her residence in Leeds.

She was born on January 21, 1922 in Salt Lake City, Utah to William Lyman and Ona Eva Dye Blodgett. She married Eugene Taufer Hansen on December 30, 1949 in Salt Lake City. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.Dot was reared and educated in Salt Lake City. She graduated from South High School and attended LDS Business College. Upon graduating from college she went to work as a secretary for the Utah State Government Welfare Dept., until her marriage to Eugene Taufer Hansen. Together they had four children, and enjoyed 49 years of marriage. Dot was an active member of the LDS Church and has served three church missions. She served as a stake missionary, and later served with her husband in Johannesburg, South Africa and for the Church Offices in Salt Lake City. Dot loved people and especially children. She knew all the children in her ward. She loved life and was very organized. She loved movies and the Hollywood Stars. She enjoyed reading and puzzles. She was a wonderful wife and mother and will be deeply missed by her family.

Survivors include her husband, Gene of Leeds; three daughters Anne (husband, Larry) Brasher of Fair Oaks, California, Betty Hansen of Lebanon, New Hampshire, and Cathy Hansen of Kamas, Utah; one son Thomas William (wife, Pat) Hansen of LaVerkin, Utah; 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; two brothers: Noah T. Blodgett of Ivins and Jack D. Blodgett of Salt Lake City.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 16, 1997 at noon in the Leeds Ward Chapel. Friends may call Wednesday evening from 7-8 p.m. at the Spilsbury & Beard Mortuary (110 South Bluff St.) in St. George and Thursday one hour prior to services at the Chapel. Graveside services will be held in the Mount Olivet Cemetery Friday at noon under the direction of Spilsbury & Beard Mortuary 888-673-2454.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests that contributions be made to I.H.C. Hospice, 354 East 600 South #304, St. George, Utah 84770.
