US Navy WWII. 10/21/1941 - 12/12/1945. Served on the Yorktowne during the Battle of Midway. When it sank, he was rescued by a destroyer. He then was transferred to the Aircraft Carrier Hornet, which was also sunk by a plane crashing into the deck.
