Our beloved wife, mother, grandma, and sister has returned to her Heavenly Father. She passed peacefully from her wonderful life on November 29, 2015.

Born June 15, 1929 to Joseph W. and Olive Brown Cowan.

She married Willis S. Shepherd on May 21, 1948. Together, they raised fobe children who are her everything: Ronald J. (Carol), Robert W. (Terri), Janet, K.C. (DeeAnn), and Diane (Jim) Makowski; thirteen grandkids, and two great-grandbabies. Near or far, her grandkids were the highlight of her life.

We have learned from her laughter, humor, honesty, and integrity is all you have in your lifetime. Mom, you will be missed every day!

She is preceded in death by parents, brothers, Bill and Reese; and sister, Bonnie. She is survived by her loving husband of sixty-seven years, her children, "perfect grandkids, David, Craig, Max, Nic, Kole, Braden (Keara), Ryan, Cameron, Karli, Kyle, Scotty, Hayden, and Lexi; great-grandbabies, Kade and Mason; and sister, Marge C. Peterson.

The family wishes to thank the Hunter Hollow nurses and staff who cared for our sweet, dear mom.

At Joyce's request, a private graveside service will be held at Valley View Memorial Park.
