Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 15, 2015, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel, with burial following at palms Memorial Park in Dayton. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m., to 2 p.m., Saturday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.
Albert was born March 26, 1940 in DuPont, Indiana, to parents; Cortes J. and Jenny B. Click Whisman, and has resided in the Dayton/Liberty area since 1978. He was a graduate of the Channelview High School class of 1958, attended college in Fairbanks, Alaska, a retired master sergeant from the US Air Force, member of VFW Post #5621, a Special Olympics volunteer, and Past-President of the NCOA. He also enjoyed playing golf, bowling, playing pinochle, and sports.
Mr. Whisman was preceded in death by his parents, sisters: Geneva Stamper and Maxine Smith, and brothers: Hiram, John, J.R., Kenneth, Wendell, and Gene Whisman. He is survived by his wife of 54 years: Dorothy Ladd Whisman of Liberty, son: Al Whisman and wife Julia of Moss Hill, daughters: Jenny Redden and husband Scott of Wyoming and Kennie Arnold and husband Mike of Tarkington Prairie, sister: Laura Keesee of Somerville, brother: Roy Whisman of California, grandchildren: Alex, Ashley, Kristen, Pvt. Rodney Stephens, Aaron, Austin, A.J., Samantha, Zach, Verna, and Susan, great-grandchildren: Ayden, Alisyn, Tiana, and Araleigh, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
