James Bassler Dies in Philadelphia
James Bassler, 77, formerly of this city, died at 5:30 last night in Philadelphia General Hospital after an illness. He resided at 6042 Oxford Street, that city.
Mr. Bassler was born at Nazareth, Pa., and spent many years in Wilkes-Barre, later moving to Philadelphia where he was employed at the Baldwin Locomotive Works.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Russell Womelsdorf, Philadelphia; Mrs. George Moyer, Wyoming, and Mrs. Anna Snyder, Shoemakersville, Pa., and three sons, Milton and William Bassler, Wilkes-Barre, and Russell Bassler, Georgetown.
The body was removed to the Harold C. Snowdon Home for Funerals, 64 North Franklin Street, city, from where the funeral will be held at a time to be announced today.
