Anna S. (Smida) George, 95, of 5th Street, Palmerton, died early Thursday morning, Nov. 26, 2015, in her home. She was the wife of the late Willard F. George, Jr. who passed in 2013. She was born in Palmerton, she was a daughter of the late John Smida, Sr.
Anna was employed by the fmr Palmerton Beverage/Coca-Cola Bottling Co., as a secretary/bookkeeper, for 40 years, retiring in1980. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Palmerton. A 1938 graduate of the Palmerton High School, she then continued her education at the fmr Allentown Business School. She enjoyed being a volunteer for the Palmerton Hospital Auxiliary.
Survivors: Daughter, Ann Louise George wife of Marcel Pouliot of Quebec, Canada; son, Douglas J. and wife Pei Sen George of Houson, TX; five grandchildren, Nicolas, Phillippe, Sarah, Audrey, and Mark; one great-grandson; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sister, Margaret Lamm; bros, Frank, Jos, Wm, John, Jr., and Augustine.
Services: 10 AM Saturday, Campton Funeral Home, 525 Delaware Avenue, Palmerton, PA 18071. Call, 9-10 AM Saturday in funeral home. Interment Towamensing Cemetery, 3rd Street and Fireline Road, Palmerton.
