She was educated in the schools of Racine and graduated from St. Catherine's High School. On Oct. 20, 1956, she married Dayton Cheney at St. Edwards Catholic Church in Racine. She enjoyed being a homemaker and assisting her husband run the family building business. Barbara was a member of St. Therese Catholic Church, a member of the Christian Mothers, she volunteered at the Shalom Center and St. Joseph's Home. She enjoyed playing cards, Sequence, gardening and most importantly spending time with her family.
Surviving Barbara are her husband Dayton; seven children, Michael (Linda) of Kenosha, Mary Beth (David) Ashe of Kenosha, William (Jackie) of Paddock Lake, Daniel of Pleasant Prairie, Kelly Lange of Kenosha, Jason of Kenosha and Jodi Eidsor of Kenosha; nine grandchildren; one brother William (Carol) Staebell of Lynn Haven, Fla.; two sisters, Shirley (James) Keller of Phoenix, Ariz., and Judy (Larry) Axlen of Deerbrook, Wis. She is further survived by nieces nephews other relatives and many card playing friends.
A visitation will be held at St. Josephs Home Chapel, 9244 29th Ave, Kenosha, WI 53143, on Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2015, from 10 a.m. until time of Mass at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery.
In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Shalom Center 1713 62nd Street, Kenosha, WI 53143 in Barbara's name.
