Charles Bartlett Jackson, 67, died at his home in Pilot Mountain on May 4, 2011,following a long illness. He was born in Spiveyʼs Corner, N.C., on April 30, 1944. He was the son of the late Charles Conoly Jackson and the late Hester Bartlett Jackson. Mr. Jackson received an Associateʼs Degree from the Winston-Salem Business
College. He worked as a teacher at Winston-Salem Business College before working at Quality Mills as a computer programmer. He worked as a systems analyst at R J Reynolds Tobacco Company until his retirement. Mr. Jackson was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Conoly
Jackson. He is survived by his sons, Charles B. Jackson, Jr. of Dobson N.C. and John D. Jackson of Pilot Mountain N.C.; his former wives Ms. Janice J. Brown of Mt. Airy, N.C., and Ms. Cynthia N. Jackson of Plymouth, N.C. Also surviving are his brothers Michael C. Jackson of Dunn, N.C., Daniel W. Jackson of Dobson, N.C., Paul H. Jackson and his wife Kathryn F. Jackson of Dobson, N.C., and his niece and nephew Kathryn J. Hall of Mountain Park N.C. and Franklin D. Jackson of Dobson N.C. The family will host a visitation at Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson on Friday, May 6, from 6-8 pm. The family would like to express their gratitude to Mountain Valley
Hospice and Palliative Care. Ms. Carolyn Spraker, Ms. Lois Edwards, and Ms. Sabrina McKeithan provided excellent care that truly went above and beyond the call of duty. The family requests that memorials be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care 401 Technology Lane, Suite 200 Mount Airy, NC 27030 in lieu of flowers.
Mr. Jackson enjoyed amateur photography, the blue highways of North Carolina, and spending time with family and friends. He will be remembered as an independent spirit with a unique and forthright sense of humor and a loving and supportive father.
