Obituary from The Salt Lake Tribune (Salt Lake City, UT) - Monday, March 29, 1926:
Funeral services for Joseph Edward Naylor, 56 years of age, who died Saturday at Weiser, Idaho, will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Thirty-first Ward Chapel, Bishop June B. Sharp officiating. Interment will be in the City Cemetery.
For more than a quarter of a century Mr. Naylor has been active in public and business circles of the city and intermountain region.
He was born June 22, 1869 in the Thirteenth Ward of Salt Lake, the son of the late William and Annie Wright Naylor. He married Miss Sadie Garn June 20, 1900.
He is survived by his widow and two daughters, Mis Mary V. Naylor and Miss Fern Naylor; also by a sister, Mrs. M.S. Woolley and three brothers, George F., Frank S., and Howard B., all of Salt Lake.
From 1895 to 1898 Mr. Naylor filled a mission in the southern states for the LDS Church under President Elias S. Kimball. Under Sheriff George H. Naylor her served as a deputy two years (1900-1902). Since 1904 Mr. Naylor has been a traveling salesman representing various firms and at the time of his death was with the Nelson-Anson Company.
He was a member of the Mount Moriah Lodge of Masons, Salt Lake, and also belonged to the Travelers' Protective Association and the United Commercial Travelers.
Mr. Naylor was in seemingly good health when he left for his recent trip into Idaho and it was during his stay at Weiser that he was seized with a sudden attack of acute heart trouble that proved fatal.
