Nelson, known to family and friends as “Tony,” was educated in the public schools of Richland County.
At an early age, Tony joined Antioch Baptist Church and later joined Spirit of Truth Church.
He retired from the City of Columbia’s Street Division after more than 30 years of dedicated service.
He leaves to mourn his passing, two daughters, Tiffanie (Jameson) Bucci and Markeeta Gridine; step-children, Tanesha Gridine and Demere’o Daniels; his mother, Alice G. Wilson; his brothers: Roy, Christopher (Arvia), Reginald, Henry (Grace) Wilson and Willie Wilson; two sisters, Tenise (Willie) Johnson and Marie (Aritus) Parker; four aunts: Nancy Davis, Ida Gibson, Nola Wilson and Carrie Wilson; his uncle, Frank Gibson; five grandchildren, Martin Lee Glover Jr., Vernon Antoine Givines Jr., Markevias Antoine Givines, and Shenavia Nevaeh Givines; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving relatives and friends, all of whom will miss him dearly.
