THOMAS-Lewis Thomas, an old veteran of the Civil war, was found dead in bed on Monday morning, June 6th, at the home of his grand-daughter, Mrs. Lee Markle, near Centre Hall, where he ha gone on a visit. He was born in Union county almost eighty-four years ago, though the greater part of his life was spent in Centre county, at his home near Shingletown. During the ivil war he served as amember of Company D, 149th regiment, the famous “Bucktails.” His wife died in 1905 and since that time he had made his home with his only son, D.W. Thomas. He was a lifelong member of the Lutheran church and Rev. Harkins had charge of the funeral which was held last Wednesday, burial being made in the Boalsburg cemetery.
