Her father Orman came from a long line of farmers in the Plainview, Texas, area. Her grandfather was Robert Rousser of Swisher County, Texas, and her great-grandfather was Jacob Fredrich Rousser who came to the Milam, Texas, area in 1878 from Effingren, Germany. She was born in Tulia, Texas, and met her husband Doyce while attending high school in Kress, Texas. Wanda and Doyce would have celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary on Thanksgiving Day. Wanda resided with husband Doyce in Tow, Texas, for the last four years. Prior to moving to Tow, Texas, Wanda and Doyce had resided in Baytown, Texas, since 1969.
