Stowe was born November 11, 1935 in Union County to the late Robert Glenn Brooks and the late Alma Henrietta Griffin Brooks.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM, Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at Love's Grove United Methodist Church, 4360 Polk Ford Road, Stanfield. The funeral service officiated by Rev. Jim White will follow at 3:00 PM. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Mary Alice Brooks of Monroe; son, Robert Stowe (Pam) Brooks, Jr. of Monroe; daughter, Mary Brooks (Jim) Ellis of Monroe; grandchildren, Ben (Hope) Brooks of Charlotte, Dan (Kasey) Brooks of Monroe, Mary Anna Ellis of Boone; five great grandchildren, Ava, Henry, Theo, Abby, and Maci Alice Brooks.
A farmer his entire life, Stowe loved nature and all things outdoors. For 65 years he faithfully tended the land and animals that brought so much joy to his life.
