WINGER, ROBERT E., age 76, died May 21, 2001, at his home; beloved father, grandfather, brother-in-law, uncle and friend; born April 16, 1925, in Davenport, IA, the son of the late Richard E. and Lillian Parr Winger; he was preceded in death last July by his wife of 46 years, Phyllis Hamelmann Winger; he is survived by his children, and his beloved grandchildren.
A graduate of Aledo, IL, High School and the Parks College of Engineering and Aviation of St. Louis University; was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, where he served as a Naval aviator; an aeronautical engineer with Ozark Air Lines in St. Louis for 35 years, he retired in 1986; an active member of Trinity Presbyterian Church for over 45 years, he held numerous church offices and assisted his wife in coordinating Trinity's emergency food pantry efforts for many years; a true friend of nature and humankind, he was an avid fisherman, gardener and compassionate soul upon this earth.

Funeral Home, 12444 Olive Blvd., Creve Coeur, from 3-8 p.m., Thurs., May 24. The funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home by Dr. Daniel R. Anderson-Little. Burial will be in the Bellerive Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Trinity Presbyterian Church, 6800 Washington Ave., University City, MO 63130 or to the Missouri Botanical Garden, P.O.
