Tom was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. He was a 1947 graduate of Williamsport High School and a 1951 graduate of the former Williamsport Technical Institute, now Penn College, and was owner and operator of Stoviak's Bicycle Shop.
Tom was a class A tool and die machinist, draftsman and designer for GTE Sylvania and had been employed at the Third St. Montoursville and Muncy facilities and retired from Reach Road plant. Tom received a patent award from Sylvania in 1967.
Tom was a member and past president of Newberry Polish Club.
He and his wife, the former Alice J. Heffner, were married in St. Boniface Catholic Church on July 8, 1961, by Msgr. Leo Post.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, is a daughter, Karen M. Stoviak at home; a son, Thomas M. Stoviak and wife Evelyn of Williamsport; a granddaughter, Katie S. Stoviak; and four sisters, Lucille Dudek, Viola Hampton and Harriet Kitchen, all of Williamsport, and Donna Shaffer of Richboro.
He was predeceased by a daughter, Linda J. Stoviak, who died January 20, 1999.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Friday in the church, 313 Arch St., Williamsport, with Rev. Charles J. Cummings officiating. Friends may call at the Crouse Funeral Home, 133 E. Third St., Williamsport, from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday evening. Burial will be in Mount Carmel of Wildwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Gatehouse Hospice Center of Divine Providence Hospital, 1100 Grampian Blvd., Williamsport, PA 17701
