Catherine F. “Kay” Williamson of Grove City passed away at 9:40 a.m. Friday (11-27-15) at Orchard Manor in Grove City. She was 94.

She was born in Butler on Nov. 3, 1921 to Jacob A. Voelker and Regina Christena Schurer Voelker.


Her first husband, Edward L. Thomas, passed away in 1960. She married William Williamson on Sept. 27, 1969. He died on April 21, 1996.

Kay started her beauty shop in Grove City in 1961 which still is in operation today. She was a homemaker, and during WWII she was employed at Cooper Energy Services, Grove City.

She was a member of The Church of The Beloved Disciple, Grove City.

She was a graduate of Slippery Rock High School, Class of 1940, and Butler School of Beauty Culture.

She is survived by: six children, Kathy F. Noble and husband Robert of Grove City, William C. Williamson of Arizona, James R. “Rick” Williamson of Grove City, Jeffrey D. Williamson and wife Kathy of Greenville, Douglas K. Williamson of Grove City and Steve P. Williamson and Kathy of Grove City; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Kay was preceded in death by: her parents; both husbands; a son, Lon Thomas; a granddaughter, Regina Thomas; two sisters, Mathilda Graham and Mildred Bertoncello; and two daughters-in-law, Susan Williamson and Judi Lee Williamson.
