Frank S. Alongi, Sr., 94, formerly of Bradley Street, North Haven, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 26, 2015 at the Connecticut Hospice, Branford, with his family by his side.
He was the beloved husband of 62 years to Louise E. D’Amore Alongi. Frank was born in Brooklyn, New York, on September 11, 1921; son of the late Salvatore and Anna Farruggia Alongi; served his country faithfully in the US Army during WW II; had worked for McKesson’s Corporation for 39 years and later for the North Haven Funeral Home for 28 years.
Frank was a member of the Teamster’s Local #443; was a 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus Father Donaher Council; member of the American Legion, Murray/Reynolds Post #76; loved to dance and was an avid New York Yankees fan. Father of Frank (Denise) Alongi, Jr. and Richard (Lynn) Alongi.
Devoted grandfather of Robert (Diana) Alongi, Lauren (Jeff) Perinetti, Richard Alongi, Jr., Marc Alongi and the late Michael F. Alongi. Predeceased by a sister, Olga Sensale.
